This week’s Random Act of Kid-ness comes to us from Dalhart, TX, where 11 year old Dyllon Orthman raised $16,000 for a family who lost their home in a tornado in Oklahoma. After Dyllon heard about the Hudsons who had lost their home, he knew he needed to help. He raised $6,000 just by mowing lawns for 2 months, and gave the family that money in Lowes gift cards. A company called Quality Integrated Services was inspired by Dyllon’s efforts and decided to add an additional $10,000 to his donation! Dyllon said:
“They [the family] need a home. I personally want a Playstation, but I’d rather give the need than take the want.”
What an incredibly generous act of kid-ness! You can read more about this story here.
